Description
Written & Published to raise funds for the UK’s FIRE FIGHTERS’ CHARITY.
It was late November 1997 when this particular ‘shout’ came in. I know that because I was in-between jobs at that time and, therefore, was dropping into the station on a daily basis to check over the BA sets to make sure they were ready for use because I knew that, given a call-out at any time of the night or day, I was going to be riding on the first ‘pump’ and, therefore, I could be called upon to wear BA at a moment’s notice (back then, it was not designated, but decided on the back of the ‘pump’, who would ‘don up’). In fact, I had been complaining to my Leading Firefighter (LFF) that same week about some ‘berk’ who kept leaving his name on the BA tally of sets after use (sacrilege at our station!) and also not loosening the BA straps to the maximum point of their extension (again – a cardinal sin that the ‘old sweats’ had drummed into us never to do).

An amusing, multilayered and fast paced story that recounts the rarity of a perfect ‘shout’.

Hello! Quick question that’s entirely off topic.
Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly?
My site looks weird when viewing from my iphone.
I’m trying to find a template or plugin that might be able to
fix this problem. If you have any suggestions, please share.
Many thanks!
